The 25th was a long day. In the morning after a Full Scottish Breakfast we walked down the hill from the Old Vicarage B&B to the train station and boarded for Aberdeen and Inverness. In Inverness we walked the two blocks to the bus station and found the bus to Thurso. However at Latheron our bus connected with the bus to John o' Groats and Gills Bay with connection to St Margaret's Hope on South Ronaldsay. Why not! No need to stay overnight in Thurso and figure out how to get to Scrabster in the morning. So we sailed on the MV Pentalina. Upon arrival we bused to Stromness where we were guided by Ian, a very friendly local, to a nearby B&B. This worked out well as it happened to be ½ block from where we picked up our rental car in the morning and headed across the island to Woodwick Mill self-catering for a few days. Map |
